Normada

– No matter how beautiful furniture you make, sooner or later it ends up on landfills. Normada wants to create something that is both beautiful and circular, by using 3D printing we can manufacture furniture from recycled material in a unique Scandinavian design.

Normada's customers can choose to lease or buy and return the furniture to transform it into something new.

The material we use opens up a completely new way of looking at furniture. If you buy six chairs, you can grind one of them down and make a children's chair if the need arises, and as the children grow, you can make the chair bigger and bigger.

Normada is now planning to start up a large-scale 3D-printing studio (so-called additive manufacturing) where the company can help other actors to adjust their manufacturing. The founder Johanna Vesterberg sees a great need to spread the technology, not only for furniture, but also for manufacturing industrial spare parts on demand, which can mean significant cost savings for companies that currently manage large warehouses.

– We mainly target customers in furniture, interior design and architecture, but the possibilities are endless. Being able to offer contract manufacturing in 3D printed form allows us to reduce costs and make the products more accessible, says Johanna.

Normada has also placed great emphasis on using materials that come from local recycling centers, which creates a very closed loop in production. The company is experimenting with PET material from food packaging, reused wood, construction plastic and even bumper car scrap.
